Why is it that on the day I decide to make soup it has to be nearly 80 degrees outside? Doesn't mother nature know it is January? Winter? Okay, I'm not really complaining. I am loving the warm weather and taking the kids to the park to play. But I HAVE to make soup today. I have to use my left over rotisserie chicken or throw it away. And I really hate wasting food. So, on a day when I should be grilling out or having a picnic, we'll be having a nice, hot bowl of homemade chicken soup that will warm us from the inside out and make us sweat.
It's really not fair because the last few days have been "soup days". You know, those days when you just can't seem to warm up unless you're constantly sipping hot cocoa, or stay wrapped in a fleece blanket all day. Not that it's even been that cold. We are in sunny So Cal. I've just been spoiled by the temperate weather here that even 60 degrees feels cool to me. But 80 feels fantastic. And who doesn't love a good bowl of soup.
Well, I'm off to chop veggies and pick chicken of the bone. See ya!

wow, how would it be?? we are lucky to get to like 40 degrees for the high, and my husband HATES soup so even when it is like 30 below we still can't have soup. may be murphy's law, but you are still lucky.
I know, I can't complain. And I'm lucky Todd really likes soup, and it's one of the things I'm good at making. Even Brynne will eat soup, and that in and of itself is a miracle.
