Ruth is my BFF. (Next only to Todd, of course) We have known each other for about 23 years, and been best friends for 20 of them. She and her little sister, Sariah, and her three kids came to visit for the weekend. They just left this morning and I miss them already. Ruth has been there for everything important in my life and I'm so thankful for her. She is so important to me that when I introduce her, or talk about her, I can't just call her "my friend, Ruth" I have to say "Best Friend", anything less just seems wrong. Oddly enough, we're both married to military men and will probably never live in the same city or state until our husbands retire. I just wanted to dedicate a post to her because I love her and I loved having her here. Even though we're getting older, I still feel like a teenager around her. Best friends are wonderful in the way you can just pick up right where you left off, even if you haven't seen each other in years. In the military, I've met so many great friends and people with whom I'll always be close, but no one will ever take Ruth's place in my heart. She was there during all those formative years and was always such a great example to me. She still is. And always will be.
