Todd had Wednesday off for Veteran's day so we decided to go exploring. Luckily, the weather was clear enough to go out and it wasn't pouring rain like it has been lately. Pictured above is Todd at the exit of the Castle grounds.

We were on the outskirts of the Castle grounds, on the upper level. It was a beautiful view. You could see so much of the island. And you could also see how jam packed everything is here.

At the entrance to the castle there were a bunch of trees with the roots exposed like this. The kids couldn't help themselves but to climb on them.

This is a tatami room inside the castle. During the part of the tour when we were inside, we were required to remove our shoes.

You can see here that we have our shoes removed and the Japanese Dude ( I don't know what he was doing there, in his traditional dress, just being there...) has his toe socks on, designed for wearing with their wooden flip flops.

Zerrin at the entrance to the upper grounds at the castle.

The family in front of the throne inside the castle. This might be our Christmas card photo. Unless we get anything better than this in the next couple of weeks....

This is a miniature scale replica of the Castle and grounds. The black and blue dots are actually people worshipping on the ground. They re-enact this scene on New Years Eve, I hear.

Another pretty view from the grounds. It was a good day, spending time as a family and seeing some neat historical sites of Okinawa. We were limited to 2 hours, so we didn't have time to read all the history and learn more about it.

Look at you posting on your blog! :)
Yeah, it's been awhile, I know. I mostly only post of facebook now because it's so much faster, and more people see it. I think you're one of maybe 3 people that even look at this blog.
Make that four people!
You guys are having such an awesome adventure. Love the pics of all of you guys. Plus now you have me craving a snow cone in November.
